Truck Stock is the inventory app that comes with every Trades Smart membership. Technicians log the parts they use on each job, count their truck and ask for a restock from their phone in a few taps, and the office sees what is on every truck and in the warehouse.
Try it the way a technician sees it
This is the real app, signed in as Marcus on Truck 101 at an example company. Tap Use on a job, put in any job number, tap + on a couple of parts and hit Record. Then try Count my truck or Ask for a restock. Nothing you do here is saved.
What technicians do with it
- Use on a job. Type the job number, tap + on each part used and tap Record. Their truck's parts are listed, with a search box, so there is nothing to look up.
- Count my truck. A blind count: the tech doesn't see what the system expects. It saves as they go and they hand it in when they're done. The manager sees the differences in dollars before anything changes.
- Ask for a restock. The request comes pre-filled with everything under its minimum, topped up to its maximum.
- No signal, no problem. In an attic, a basement or out past the edge of town, the app still opens and still records. Everything sends itself when the phone gets signal again.
- Their truck only. A tech sees their own truck, with no other trucks and no costs.
What the office gets
- Every truck and warehouse in one place, with a minimum and maximum for each part, set from a template per truck type.
- Restock lists, transfers between the warehouse and trucks, receiving and adjustments.
- Stock value in total, by location, by item and by category.
- Parts used pulled in from the jobs in your field software, so inventory moves when the work does.
Truck Stock is included in the Trades Smart membership at no extra cost. We set it up with your parts and trucks and switch it on for your team as it rolls out.
Common questions
Is there an extra charge for Truck Stock?
No. It is included in every Trades Smart membership. We set it up with your parts list and trucks and switch it on for your team as it rolls out.
Do techs need to download anything?
They add it to their phone's home screen from the browser, and it opens like any other app. It works on iPhone and Android.
Does it work without cell signal?
Yes. The app opens with the truck as of the last time it had signal, and jobs and counts recorded offline send themselves when the phone reconnects.
Can techs see what parts cost?
No. Technicians see only their own truck and quantities. Costs and stock values are for the office.
